Wow! Okay I did it. I scheduled my initial consultation with Dr. Michael Hynes today. Breast augmentation and tummy tuck here I come! I am feeling excited, nervous, exhilarated and a little scared.

When I called and spoke with the receptionist, she was really wonderful. She first asked how I found out about Dr. Hynes. The Internet of course! We then set the appointment that was convenient for me. (Dr. Hynes sees patients on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.) She asked what procedure I was considering. When my answer was the mommy makeover, she said that Dr. Hynes is wonderful at this and that a lot of Kansas City Moms are coming to him for the procedure. She took the time to remind me that he is Board Certified and told me a few of his other credentials. She pointed me to his website for any questions and said I could download and fill out the paperwork in advance if that was more convenient for me.

She made sure that I knew where they were located and gave me very specific directions to the office.

Simply making the appointment, the girls at the office have already made me feel welcome. I really got the sense that they enjoy working with Dr. Hynes and that they are looking forward to having me as a patient. I can't wait!

I should mention that when I was reading the website, I found out that not all women are even candidates for plastic surgery. I guess that's something I'll find out during the initial consultation. I think it's great that Dr. Hynes puts this right out there. It just goes to show that he won't take just anyone as a patient – especially if it isn't safe for them.
